Every year, we don’t think its possible to be prouder of the spectacular that is Boomtown Fair; to be part of a festival that is not only groundbreaking within music but also the world’s largest interactive film set. Boomtown Fair, you’ve outdone yourself again and we’re so happy to have been able to capture some of your magic. This year, Lucas and Leora from FareLight Productions were again part of the official media team for the festival.
FareLight Productions directed, filmed and edited this video for the Dutty Moonshine Big Band’s “Super Sharp Swingers”. A large portion of the video was shot all in one action packed day in various locations around Bristol, including the fantastic speakeasy bar Milk Thistle. Meticulous planning, storyboarding and scheduling ensured the day went without a hitch and a big thanks goes out to all the extras and the whole of the Dutty Moonshine Big Band for all their hard work on the day. Gig footage and additional scenes were shot at Motion, Bristol and on set in Leeds.
This video is the first in a series of videos following the band and their unfortunate run-ins with the law.
In July we were invited down to Wonder Fields in Devon to film and photograph their beautiful little festival. With a great line up of DJs and bands, and plenty of sunshine and smiling faces we had a treat of a weekend recording this event. Here’s our highlights video and favourite photos.
Back in May, FareLight Productions took on the role of media managers at the Shindig Weekender at a secret location near Bath. We filmed and produced the weekend’s highlights video as well as photographing the event. On top of this we managed the team of additional photographers on behalf of the event, setting briefs, collecting footage, organising for galleries and liaising with management and staff. Here’s the newly released video and our favourite photos from the weekend.
This year at Glastonbury, FareLight Productions were once again in the Shangri-La area of the site. We were managing the media teams for Shangri-La as there were several photographers and two video teams and coordination and communication between them all was essential.
In addition, we were producing an after movie for Shangri-La, paying particular attention to this year’s theme of TV and the media, and wrapping up the last four year’s of Shangri-La’s Heaven and Hell story. We’ve been immensely proud to have been part of the last four years producing videos, interviews and photography and hope to continue to do so. Our after movie is on it’s way but for now here’s some snaps Sarah and Leora got over the weekend.
Last night we filmed a music video for Bristol band Mr Tea and The Minions at Wise Beans Cafe. It was a hilariously fun video to shoot with fantastic characters in the band and the lead actor, Paddy McCrea. We can’t wait to for the single “Coffee Shop Pyscho” and video to come out in anticipation of the band’s debut album launch on September 23rd 2016. Watch this space!
